Postcode Auto Fill completes an address from its postal code. The shopper types the code, and the state, the city and — where the data has it — the street address fill themselves, with no page reload. It works on Create Account, the address book and the checkout address page, and on One Page Checkout’s billing and shipping forms, for guests and account holders alike.
Ten countries’ data comes with it: the United States, Spain, France and its territories, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein (with Switzerland), Austria, Australia and Japan — about 308,000 postal codes, loaded into their own tables when you install the plugin. Where a code matches more than one place, hovering the city field opens a clickable list of the alternatives, and picking one narrows the street list to that city.
This is the continuation of piloujp’s Postal Code Automatic, in the same zc_plugins/PostAuto folder, so a store on v2.0.x gets an Upgrade button and keeps the postal tables it already has. What we fixed: the installer folder was spelled installer/, which case-sensitive hosts never find, so no tables were created on Linux; the Japanese table asked for a MySQL 8 only collation, so installing failed on MariaDB and MySQL 5.7; stores with a table prefix weren’t handled; upgrades chose their data updates from the new version instead of the old one; the Japanese updates stopped half way on any store without Japanese zones; and the lookup now uses the store’s own database connection, so the configured port, socket and character set are honored and pdo_mysql is no longer needed. The browser script is a static deferred file, so jQuery may load in the head or the footer.
Zen Cart 1.5.8 through 3.0.0, PHP 7.4 through 8.5, one codebase, verified on each release branch. GPL-3.0; the bundled PowerTip tooltip library is MIT, by Steven Benner.
Heads up: the postal code tables are large and installing them takes a while — half a minute on a quick server, longer on a slow one. Let the installer finish.

Need it tailored to your store? We customize our own plugins, and other developers' plugins and mods too, wherever their license allows it (most Zen Cart plugins are GPL, which does). An extra option, a different placement, a hook into something else you run, an update for a newer Zen Cart or PHP, or a version for your template. Tell us what you have in mind through
